Staff Biography

Brian King
Percussion Teacher

Brian holds a Bachelors and Masters of Music in Percussion from Nazareth College of Rochester, and is currently a band director in the Greece Central School District.  Brian also holds an Educational Leadership Certificate from The University of Rochester.  He has been involved in the drum corps activity starting in 1978 and joined the Empire Statesmen in their inaugural year, 1983.  Brian is proud to have 3 DCA Championships, as well as 4 High Percussion Awards as part of the Statesmen.  As a staff member since 1988, Brian has worked with some percussion greats, such as Tim Stodd, Al Murray, Gus Barbaro, Rick Rogers and Bill McGrath, to name a few.  Last year, Brian was the percussion arranger for The Rochester Crusaders as well as a staff member for the NYS Champion Medina Mustang Marching Band.  Brian is very excited to be back ‘home’ with The Empire Statesmen and is looking forward to a fantastic season!!
